The makers of ‘Brahmastra’ unveiled the first song of the film, titled ‘Kesariya,’ on Sunday. The song received a mixed response from the audience and a section of netizens trolled the makers for its lyrics. A few people felt that the ‘love storiya’ line was a misfit in the song and it sparked a meme fest on the internet. Now, director Ayan Mukerji and Ranbir Kapoor have reacted to the trolls.

In an interview with India.com, Ranbir said that memes and trolling are a part of life. Adding that he loved the phrase in the song, he said that it’s up to the audience how they want to receive the song.

‘It’s up to the audience how they want to receive the song. We, as filmmakers and artists, create something and it is up to the audience to receive it how they do. We are very excited about the song; it has received a lot of love... As long as people enjoy the song, Pritam's music, Arijit singing, Alia and my chemistry... that's what the endeavour is. By the way, I loved the 'love storiyan' bit,’ he said.

Meanwhile, at a press conference Ayan Mukerji said they added the ‘love storiyan’ bit to the song as they found it to be an interesting twist. He further added that he feels people will start enjoying the song even more in sometime.

‘So, we did not find it like an Elaichi, we thought of it as a twist. Like bohot sugar mein thoda namak jab aata hai na, uska ek maza hai aur swaad hai. The lyrics of the song are so traditional and simple, we thought of it as a fun twist. In sometime, people will actually start enjoying it even more. That's my feeling,’ he said.

‘Brahmastra’ will be release in theatres on September 9, 2022. It also features Amitabh Bachchan, Dimple Kapadia, Mouni Roy and Nagarjuna in pivotal roles.
