Kangana Ranaut pays tribute to Veer Savarkar at Kaala Pani jail, says 'his cell is the truth of azaadi'

Actor Kangana Ranaut who is currently shooting for her upcoming film 'Tejas' in the Andamans, visited the Cellular Jail in Port Blair, where she paid her tribute to Hindutva ideologue Veer Savarkar.

Sharing the photos from her visit, Kangana wrote, "I was shaken to the core … when inhumanity was at its peak even humanity rose to its peak in the form of Savarkar ji and looked it in the eye, faced every cruelty with resistance and determination".

In the photos shared by Kangana, she was seen sitting next to the leader's photo in his cell.

Reminiscing about Veer Savarkar's bravery, Kangana further wrote, "How scared they must have been of him not only they kept him in Kala Paani in those days it must be impossible to escape from this tiny island in the middle of the sea yet they put chains on him built a thick-walled jail and locked him up in a tiny hole, imagine the fear as if he can fly on thin air across the never-ending sea"

Emphasising that his jail cell is the symbol of freedom, she said, "This cell is the truth of Aazadi not what they teach us in our text books."

In 'Tejas', Kangana plays a fighter pilot. Sarvesh Mewara makes his directorial debut with the film.
