'Kal Ho Naa Ho' turns 19: Preity Zinta reveals her favourite scene from ‘saddest happy film'

‘Kal Ho Naa Ho’, starring Shah Rukh Khan, Preity Zinta, and Saif Ali Khan, turns 19 today. On this special day, actor Preity Zinta took a trip down memory lane and shared one of her favourite scenes from the Nikkhil Advani directorial. She also penned a heartfelt note on the film's 19th anniversary.

Calling it her ‘saddest happy film,' Preity expressed her gratitude to be part of the film and said she enjoyed it thoroughly.

The clip shared by the actor shows how Aman tells Naina to live in the present while keeping a smile on her face and not worrying about the future.

Sharing clip, Preity wrote, ‘Remembering Kal Ho Naa Ho on its anniversary this Thanksgiving weekend. This is one of my favourite scenes from the film cuz multiple pages of dialogues were shot in one big take. Later a few close ups were added. This scene is all about gratitude & appreciating what we have in our present. This was my saddest happy film. So grateful to have the opportunity to be part of films & cinema I enjoy & believe in.’

This film was produced by Yash Johar and was his last film before his death in 2004.

His son, filmmaker Karan Johar also shared an emotional post on Instagram. Sharing a series of pictures from the set, featuring SRK, Saif, and Preity, he wrote, ‘An entire lifetime of memories, in a heartbeat! This film gave so much more than just that - it gave me joy, unbreakable bonds, a different lens for story telling and of course - the last film set I could be on with my father. And for that, I will forever be grateful to this film!,’ followed by a heart emoticon.

‘Kal Ho Naa Ho’, which was written by Karan Johar, also starred Jaya Bachchan, Sonali Bendre, and Reema Lagoo in pivotal roles.
