Kajol praises OTT for giving chance to actors who don't have '24 inches waistline'

Kajol, who made her debut with 'Bekhudi', completes three decades in the Hindi film industry this month. The actor has delivered numerous memorable performances in films such as 'Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge', 'Kuch Kuch Hota Hai', and many more. In a recent conversation with Pinkvilla, Kajol talked about her journey, her invitation to the 2022 Oscars committee and impact of the OTT medium.

The actor will soon be seen in a digital series. Talking about the OTT medium, Kajol said that this platform gives you an opportunity to be a little freer whereas there are a lot of restrictions while making films. She further mentioned that right now actors are getting much more exposure due to the OTT platform.

'Actually, right now it's a fabulous time for actors all over, because they're getting so much exposure. Everybody has so much work and I love the fact that OTT has brought out some fabulous actors, you know. You have people who are genuinely fabulous actors getting a stage and being able to show exactly what they are capable of, and becoming stars in their own right despite the fact that they don't have a 24 inches waistline and a 36 inches chest or a 46 inches chest,' Kajol told Pinkvilla

Talking about the influence of social media, Kajol said that fame has now become a common pronoun as people can now be famous for n number of things. She added that she truly admires those who can invest so much time and energy on social media but that does dilute stardom.

On the work front, Kajol was last seen in 'Tribhanga' alongside Tanvi Azmi and Mithila Palkar. She will next feature in 'Salaam Venky', co-starring Vishal Jethwa and Aahana Kumra in key roles.
