‘Jawan’ box office Day 4: Shah Rukh Khan starrer scripts history; records highest single-day collection

Shah Rukh Khan starrer ‘Jawan’ is breaking box office records ever since its release. The action thriller, which hit the theatres on September 7, had a fabulous opening day figure of Rs 75 crore all India nett.

The Atlee directorial has now broken that record. According to early estimates by industry tracker Sacnilk, the film earned Rs 81 crore on its fourth day, registering the highest single-day collection.

Trade expert Manobala V took to X (previously known as Twitter) to share ‘Jawan’s gross collection on September 10 alone was Rs. 85 Cr. The film ended its opening weekend collection at Rs 206.06 cr.

‘Jawan’ has beaten Sunny Deol starrer ‘Gadar 2’ to record the second-biggest opening weekend of 2023 in Bollywood. ‘Pathaan’ continues to hold the top spot.

‘Jawan’ emerged as the top Hindi opener of the year at Rs 75 crore, beating ‘Pathaan’ which made Rs 57 crore. Jawan has also set the record of entering Rs 200 crore in just three days.

‘Jawan’ also stars Vijay Sethupathi, Nayanthara, Sanya Malhotra, Priyamani, and Sunil Grover among others. It also features Deepika Padukone in a special appearance.

Meanwhile, Shah Rukh Khan seemingly teased that ‘Jawan 2’ could be in the making. On September 9, SRK was replying to several fans when one of them mentioned Vijay Sethupathi. The fan, referring to the film’s ‘deal or no deal’ scene, said that SRK should have agreed to a deal with Vijay because the fan likes the Tamil star.

SRK replied, ‘I am a big fan of Vijay sir too… par Kaali ka kaala dhan toh le liya ab dekho doosron ke bhi Swiss banks se lekar aata hoon… Buss visa ka hi wait kar raha hoon. Ha ha!!! (I am a big fan of Vijay sir too… But you took Kaali’s black money and now see others also got money from Swiss banks… Just waiting for the visa. Ha ha!!!)’
