Janhvi Kapoor gets candid about her 1st romantic heartbreak: 'But the same person came back'

Actor Janhvi Kapoor, who is gearing up for the release of her upcoming project ‘Ulajh’, opened up about her experience with her first heartbreak in a recent interview.

In a conversation with Hautterfly, Janhvi Kapoor shared she has experienced heartbreak only once, fortunately, the same person came back and helped heal her heart, making the experience less significant for her.

She stated, ‘I have genuinely experienced heartbreak only one time in life, but the same person came back and put my heart together. So, it was all good.’

Additionally, the actor discussed the mood swings she experienced during PMS when she was younger and their impact on her relationship. She mentioned that in the early years of her periods, she would often break up with her boyfriend, leaving him bewildered at first. However, over time, he grew accustomed to it.

‘In the couple of years of my periods, every month I would break up with this person. The first two or three months, he would be in shock, but after that, he would be like, ‘Yes, okay,’ and after two days, I would go back to him crying and saying sorry. I wouldn’t understand why my brain was working like this. It was very extreme,’ she said.

Janhvi dated Shikhar Pahariya for years before she joined Bollywood. She then dated her first co-star, Ishaan Khatter, when they were filming Shashank Khaitan's 2018 romantic drama ‘Dhadak’. After breaking up with Ishaan, she got back with Shikhar.

The actor remarked that she finds it ‘strange’ that she experiences less pain during busy shooting schedules. However, when she’s at home or engaged in fewer activities, like attending events or doing an ad shoot, the pain can be ‘paralyzing.’

Janhvi’s upcoming film, ‘Ulajh’, directed by Sudhanshu Saria, boasts an impressive cast including Gulshan Devaiah, Roshan Mathew, Adil Hussain, Rajendra Gupta, Rajesh Tailang, Meiyang Chang, and Jitendra Joshi. The thriller is scheduled for release on August 2, 2024, produced by Vineet Jain and co-produced by Amrita Pandey.
