‘Jaandi Vaar’: Sidhu Moose Wala's song put on hold after singer's parents file complaint

The release of late singer Sidhu Moose Wala’s song ‘Jaandi Vaar’ has been put on hold, according to India Today. Punjab court on Monday reportedly ordered the removal of all promotional materials and advertisements related to the song on all social media platforms due to copyright infringement, and the illegal use of Moose Wala's name and image. The late singer’s parents filed a suit for permanent injunction against music composers Salim-Sulaiman, and company, Merchant Records Pvt Ltd, along with some other entities and digital platforms.

Salim Merchant took to social media on August 25th and announced that Sidhu Moose Wala’s song ‘Jaandi Vaar’ would release on September 2. They also promised that a portion of the collected revenue would be given to the singer’s family. The song, which also consists of vocals by singer Afsana Khan, was recorded in Chandigarh in July last year.
