IMDb changes rating system for 'The Kashmir Files', Vivek Agnihotri calls it 'unethical'

IMDb, an extremely popular online database of information related to films, has changed the rating system of Vivek Agnihotri's directorial, 'The Kashmir Files'.

The rating for 'The Kashmir Files' had been rated 9.9/10 on IMDb. However, the rating system for the film has been changed and it now stands at a rating of 8.3/10.

A message on the IMDb page of 'The Kashmir Files' reads, "Our rating mechanism has detected unusual voting activity on this title. To preserve the reliability of our rating system, an alternate weighting calculation has been applied."

A fan brought this development to the notice of the director Vivek Agnihotri. Reacting to his tweet, Vivek called it 'unusual and unethical'.

'The Kashmir Files' is based on the genocide of the Kashmiri Pandit Community in Kashmir during the 1990s. The film depicts the pain, suffering, struggle, and trauma of the Kashmiri Pandits and questions eye-opening facts about democracy, religion, politics, and humanity.

The film was released in theatres on 11 March 2022 and had been receiving raving reviews from almost everyone alike.
