Hrithik Roshan's Birthday: Bollywood's 'Greek God' continues to challenge himself

Born in 1974, Bollywood’s Greek God Hrithik Roshan debuted as a child actor in a film produced by his maternal granddad when he was just 6-years-old and since then there has been no looking back for the actor who has shone bright on the silver screen.

Hrithik who describes his childhood as a 'lucky mascot' period, acted in several films produced and directed by his family members. As a child actor, our very desi Greek God acted in movies like, 'Aap Ke Deewane', 'Aas Paas' and 'Bhagwan Dada'.

It was 'Kaho Naa Pyaar Hai’, directed and produced by his father in 2000 that Hrithik made his debut as a lead actor along with Ameesha Patel, who was also a debutante. The film was a box office hit, and Hrithik's performance catapulted his status as one of the industry's most promising young actors. He went on to appear in movies like 'Fiza', 'Mission Kashmir', and 'Yaadein'.

Over the course of his 21-year career, he has made it a point to not limit himself to certain types of roles. And the diversity on his platter can make his contemporaries envious.

He became an overnight star with India's first successful alien science fiction film, 'Koi Mil Gaya,' which was released in 2003.

Hrithik first entered the action genre in 2006's 'Dhoom 2', he played the role of a thief.

Mughal emperor Akbar in 2008's historical epic Jodhaa Akbar, a former magician who becomes quadriplegic in 'Guzaarish', and Mathematics genius Anand Kumar in 2019's 'Super 30' are among Hrithik's other notable roles. Hrithik Roshan's other notable films are 'Agneepath', 'Bang Bang', 'War' and 'Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara' among others.

Hrithik Roshan’s looks have fetched him several distinctions and he has featured in numerous lists of the best-looking men.

When he debuted as a lead actor in 2000, Hrithik married Sussanne Khan, an interior and fashion designer. The duo separated 14 years later and have two sons Hridhaan and Hrehaan.
