Rapper Honey Singh issued a statement a day after a complaint was filed against him for allegedly kidnapping and assaulting an event manager. He has called the accusations made by Vivek Ravi Raman, owner of Festivina Music Festival, 'false and baseless'. He also said that he'll be filing a defamation case against the miscreants.
Taking to Instagram, Honey Singh wrote, ‘The complaint and the allegations are false and baseless. There is no connection or agreement between my company or the complainant which the media is showing since morning. I was engaged for the Mumbai Show through a company named Tribevibe which is a reputed company and a sister concern of Bookmyshow. I did my performance for whatever time the permission was there for. Rest all such allegations are false and an attempt to tarnish my image. My Legal Team is already working to file a defamation case against such miscreants.’
A complaint was filed by Vivek on Wednesday, accusing the rapper and his crew members of kidnapping him, keeping him captive, and assaulting him over a dispute regarding the cancellation of an event. The police are yet to register an FIR in the matter.
Vivek Ravi Raman organised a music festival titled ‘Yo Yo Honey Singh 3.0’ by Festivina on April 15 at MMRDA Grounds in BKC. On the day of the event, Raman visited the venue and had an argument with some vendors over non-payment. When Raman didn’t receive the payment from the show’s ticket-selling partner, he cancelled the event and informed the management teams of all artistes.
