High Court to Nawazuddin Siddiqui and his estranged wife: Try to amicably resolve issues over children

The Bombay High Court has asked actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui and his estranged wife to resolve their differences about their minor children amicably, reported news agency PTI. This comes after the actor moved High Court with a habeas corpus petition seeking direction from his estranged wife Zainab to reveal the whereabouts of their daughter and son.

A division bench of Justices A S Gadkari and P D Naik asked Nawazuddin and his wife to communicate and resolve the differences.

'He (Siddiqui) is only concerned about his children and their education. Speak with each other and settle the communication and visitation rights between the father and children. If it can be worked out, then good...settle the matter amicably...resolve the issues,' the court said.

Nawazuddin's lawyer Pradeep Thorat told Court that the actor is unaware of the whereabouts of children and their school in Dubai has given a warning to rusticate them as they haven't been attending classes.

Rizwan Siddiquee, Zainab's lawyer, told Court that children are with their biological mother and they do not wish to leave her and return to Dubai. They wish to continue their education in India. The respondent is looking at all options.

Zainab has been asked to inform the Court by next week about what has been decided about the children's education.

The matter will be further heard by the HC on March 3.
