'Heeramandi' Song 'Sakal Ban': Manisha Koirala, Aditi Rao Hydari, and others radiate timeless elegance

Filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali‘s first-ever web series 'Heeramandi', which has been in the making for a few years now, is one of the most anticipated projects of all time. After teasing fans with the intriguing first look, the makers have now dropped the first song from the film. Titled 'Sakal Ban', the moving track offers a glimpse into the opulent world crafted by SLB.

The song features the cast of the show including Manisha Koirala, Richa Chaddha, Aditi Rao Hydari, Sanjeeda Shaikh and Sharmin Sehgal, who perfectly bring Bhansali's vision to life as grace meets grandeur. The song has been sung by Raja Hasan, while the lyrics have been credited to 14th-century poet Amir Khusro. Bhansali Productions shared the video on their Instagram account as well and added the caption, “Step into spring to celebrate the season of flowers, blossoming with beauty, strength and grace!”

Speaking about his magnum opus, Sanjay Leela Bhansali, in a statement earlier, said, "Heeramandi is an important milestone in my journey as a filmmaker. This is an epic, first-of-its-kind series based on the courtesans of Lahore. It is an ambitious, grand and all-encompassing series; therefore I am nervous yet excited about making it. I am looking forward to my partnership with Netflix and bringing Heeramandi to audiences all over the world."

'Heeramandi' is expected to stream on Netflix from April 2024.
