Has Jackky Bhagnani’s production house Pooja Entertainment’s seven-floor office been sold?

Vashu Bhagnani and Jackky Bhagnani owned Pooja Entertainment’s financial troubles have been the talk of the town since some of the staff members came forward to reveal that their salaries have not been paid for many months. In the latest, a report has emerged suggesting that Bhagnanis have taken a big step to pay off their debts.

According to a report by Bollywood Hungama, Vashu Bhagnani has sold his seven-floor office of production house Pooja Entertainment to a builder. The building will reportedly be demolished, and a residential project will be made on the land. The report quoting sources said that the office building has been sold for approximately Rs 250 crores.

Lay-offs to cut down cost

The report also suggests that Vashu Bhagnani has sacked almost 80% of the staff and shifted operations to a 2BHK apartment Juhu. The production house began lay-offs in January 2024 and further cut down on staff in April after the ‘Bade Miyan Chote Miyan’ disaster. The film was made with a massive budget of Rs 350 crores; however it could only manage to earn Rs 59.17 crores.

The production house, which was set up in 1986, is known for making superhit films like ‘Coolie No. 1’, ‘Biwi No. 1’, ‘Hero No. 1’ and ‘Rehna Hai Tere Dil Mein’. However, with a series of major flops, it has been facing a major financial crisis. The production house has seen back-to-back flops with ‘Bell Bottom’, ‘Mission Raniganj’, ‘Ganapath’ and then ‘Bade Miyan Chote Miyan’ hit the final nail in the coffin and the debt has now reportedly mounted to several crores.

Staff called out on social media

Ruchita Kamble, a crew member of Pooja Entertainment, took to Instagram to bring attention to the staff’s woes. In a long post, she called the company unprofessional and unethical and asked everyone not to work with them.
