Rustom (2016)

This crime thriller is largely inspired from the famous 1959 case of KM Nanavati v. State of Maharashtra that changed the face of the Indian judicial system. It stars Akshay as honourable navy officer, Rustom, who leads a happy life with his wife, Cynthia. Soon he finds out about her affair with his close friend and is accused of murdering him. Directed by Dharmendra Suresh Desai, the film also stars Ileana D’Cruz and Arjan Bajwa.

Bhool Bhulaiyaa (2007)

The comedy-horror film starred Akshay Kumar, Shiney Ahuja and Vidya Balan. The film narrates the story of Siddharth, an NRI and his wife, Avni, who decide to stay in their ancestral home, shunning away the warning about ghosts. However, unexplained and terrifying occurrences arise, forcing Siddharth to call a psychiatrist to help solve the mystery.

Welcome (2007)

The Anees Bazmee directorial starred Akshay Kumar, Katrina Kaif, Nana Patekar and Anil Kapoor. The film is about two gangsters who are on a mission to marry off their sister into a respectable family. They find a suitable match, but the only way they can get her married is by giving up their life of crime.

Kesari (2019)

Starring Akshay Kumar and Parineeti Chopra, the film is based on the true story of the Battle of Saragarhi. An army of 21 Sikhs fought against 10,000 Afghans in the 1897 battle. ‘Kesari’ has been written and directed by Anurag Singh.

Mission Mangal (2019)

Helmed by Jagan Shakti, the film stars Akshay Kumar, Vidya Balan, Taapsee Pannu and Nithya Menon in the lead roles. This movie is also based on true events in which the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) with a team of brilliant scientists successfully sent a satellite to Mars in their very first attempt and termed the mission as Mangalyaan.
