A filmy background
Almost everyone in Aditya’s family belongs to the entertainment industry. His mother, Salome Roy Kapoor is a former Miss India, his grandfather, Raghupat Roy Kapoor was a renowned film producer. He is youngest of the three siblings. His eldest brother, Siddharth Roy Kapur is the founder of Roy Kapur Films and is married to the actress, Vidya Balan. His brother, Kunaal Roy Kapur, is also an actor, who has featured in movies like ‘Delhi Belly’ (2011) and ‘Nautanki Saala’ (2013).

Started out as a VJ
Aditya Roy Kapur was initially a VJ on the music channel Channel V India. He hosted many shows for the channel including 'Pakao' and 'India's Hottest'. He was one of the popular VJs at that time.

Bollywood debut
Not many know that Aditya’s childhood dream was to be a cricketer, but he stepped into Bollywood in 2009 with Salman Khan and Ajay Devgn’s film ‘London Dreams’. Aditya got his career breakthrough in 2013 with the superhit film ‘Aashiqui 2’ alongside Shraddha Kapoor. Some of his best known movies are ‘Fitoor’, ‘Ok Jaanu’, ‘Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani’ and ‘Malang’.

Hindi diction classes
Aditya took diction classes to improve his Hindi pronunciation. Prior to his acting days, he was interested in music and wanted to cut an album since his days as VJ. He even learned how to play the guitar for his film ‘Aashiqui 2’.

Aditya was said to be dating VJ Rhea Chakraborty in his initial days. He was also linked with Shraddha Kapoor after the release of ‘Aashiqui 2’. However, both maintained that they are ‘just friends’. Lately, he has sparked dating rumours with actor Ananya Panday.

Aditya was last seen in action thriller ‘Rashtra Kavach Om’. His next project is a crime thriller film ‘Gumraah’ alongside Mrunal Thakur.
