Gehraiyaan: Here's what Ranveer Singh has to say about Deepika Padukone's film

Gehraiyaan is all set to release on February 11. Bollywood star Ranveer Singh, who has recently seen the film, is in awe of his wife Deepika Padukone's performance.

In an interview with Indian Express, Deepika revealed how Ranveer reacted to the film. She said that Ranveer Singh told her that he feels Gehraiyaan is the most intense film she has done since Tamasha and Piku. She added that her character of Alisha Khanna has shades of Shoojit Sircar's Piku and Tara from Tamasha because of how they have been written.

"There are shades of a Piku or a Tamasha's because they are similar in how the characters are written — real and relatable. But honestly, the only common thread in these characters is that they as close to reality as possible. This is probably the most complex character I have ever played, which makes this role different and extremely challenging than whatever I have done," Deepika expressed.

In several interviews, Deepika has informed how Gehraiyaan is yet another perspective on the complexities of relationships. When asked if the film has changed her take on relationships, the actor said it made her more empathetic and accepting of people and their struggles.

The Shakun Batra directorial, starring Deepika Padukone, Siddhanth Chaturvedi, Ananya Panday and Dhairya Karwa, is set to release on Amazon Prime Video.
