Gauahar Khan has an advice for those offended by Ranbir Kapoor's joke on pregnant Alia Bhatt

TV star Gauahar Khan has seemingly come out in support of Ranbir Kapoor after he was slammed on social media for his ‘phailoed’ remark on wife Alia Bhatt’s weight gain during pregnancy. In a cryptic tweet, she mentioned that people have become ‘over-sensitive’ and asked those who were offended by Ranbir’s comment, to take a ‘chill pill’.

Gauahar tweeted, “Aaj kal log kuch zyaada hi sensitive ho gaye hain. Ab apni biwi se kuch halka phulka mazaak karne pe bhi paabandi hai, kya pata kaun kahaan pe offend ho jaaye. Take a chill pill yaar, take light, it will resolve a lot of the issues in the world (People have become very sensitive these days. Now even cracking a light joke with your wife isn't allowed, who knows what might offend people)."

In a recent Instagram Live session, Alia Bhatt, Ranbir Kapoor and director Ayan Mukerji were talking of 'Brahmastra' promotions. At the time, the ‘Raazi’ actor said that they will promote the film, and will be everywhere. When she tried to explain why they are not phailoed (as in spread) everywhere at the moment. She was interrupted by Ranbir, who, pointing at her baby bump said, ‘Well I can say somebody has phailoed.’ Even though he was quick to add that it was just a ‘joke’, he faced major backlash on social media. Later, the actor apologised for his remark, saying that his sense of humour falls flat on his face sometimes.

Gauahar co-starred with Ranbir Kapoor 2009 film ‘Rocket Singh: Salesman Of The Year’. In 2021, she featured as Maithili Sharan in Amazon web series ‘Tandav’.
