‘Gadar 2’ first look poster out: Sunny Deol and Ameesha Patel’s film to release on Independence Day

Sunny Deol is all set to return as Tara Singh after 22 years. The actor shared the first look poster of his film on Republic Day. It shows Sunny walking with a large hammer against a background of soldiers and violence. The poster’s tagline reads, ‘Hindustan zindabad’.

Sharing the poster, Sunny wrote, ‘Hindustan Zindabaad Hai….Zindabaad Tha.. .aur Zindabaad Rahega! This Independence Day, we bring to you the biggest sequel in Indian cinema after two decades. #Gadar2 releasing in Cinemas on 11th August 2023’.

The forthcoming film will be helmed by Anil Sharma, who had directed the original, ‘Gadar: Ek Prem Katha’ (2001). Ameesha Patel returns as Sakeena in this sequel.

Talking about returning as Tara Singh, Sunny said in a statement, ‘Gadar – Ek Prem Katha has been an eminent part of my life, personally as well as professionally. Tara Singh from Gadar isn’t just a protagonist but went on to become a cult icon that defied all odds and crossed all boundaries for his family and love. Collaborating with the team after, 22 years was a creatively enriching experience.’

‘Gadar 2’ is scheduled to be released on August 11, 2023.
