Filmfare Awards 2024: 'Sam Bahadur, 'Jawan' and 'Animal' sweep top honours in Technical Category

The 69th Filmfare Awards began on Saturday with a star-studded event in Gujarat. Shah Rukh Khan's 'Jawan', Vicky Kaushal's 'Sam Bahadur', and 'Animal' starring Ranbir Kapoor won major awards at the prestigious ceremony. 

Filmfare Awards 2024: 'Sam Bahadur, 'Jawan' and 'Animal' sweep top honours in Technical Category

The 69th Hyundai Filmfare Awards 2024 with Gujarat Tourism began on a fiery note on January 27. The curtain-raiser ceremony was hosted by actors Aparshakti Khurana and Karishma Tanna, during which winners for technical categories, including cinematography, screenplay, costumes, and editing, were announced. While Vicky Kaushal's 'Sam Bahadur' cliched three awards, Shah Rukh Khan's 'Jawan' bagged the award in a major category. Meanwhile, Ranbir Kapoor's 'Animal', too, won big at the star-studded night.

Sam Bahadur and Animal win big

The ceremony saw Sam Bahadur win in three technical categories, including Best Sound Design, Best Costume Design, and Best Production Design. Ganesh Acharya won the Best Choreography Award for 'What Jhumka?' from 'Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani'. Vikrant Massey starrer '12th Fail' took home the trophy for Best Editing, whereas SRK's 'Jawan' was honored with the winner of Best Special Effects (visual) and Best Action.

Best Background Score: Harshavardhan Rameshwar for 'Animal'

Best Production Design: Subrata Chakraborty and Amit Ray for 'Sam Bahadur'

Best VFX: Red Chillies VFX for 'Jawan'

Best Editing: Jaskunwar Singh Kohli and Vidhu Vinod Chopra for the '12th Fail'

Best Costume Design: Sachin Lovelekar, Divvya Gambhir, and Nidhhi Gambhir for 'Sam Bahadur'

Best Cinematography: Avinash Arun Dhaware for 'Three of Us'

Best Choreography: Ganesh Acharya for 'What Jhumka?' from 'Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani'

Best Action: Spiro Razatos, Anl Arasu, Craig Macrae, Yannick Ben, Kecha Khamphakdee, and Sunil Rodrigues for 'Jawan'

The awards in the main categories—both popular and critical—will be announced on January 28.
