The upcoming film 'Amar Singh Chamkila,' directed by Imtiaz Ali, has generated significant anticipation as it gears up for release on April 12, 2024 on Netflix.

Featuring Diljit Dosanjh and Parineeti Chopra in lead roles, the film delves into the untold true story of the legendary Punjabi, Amar Singh Chamkila, often referred to as the 'Elvis of Punjab' and renowned for his record-breaking sales.

While the film's debut song "Ishq Mitaye" has already dominated the music charts, the film's second track, "Naram Kaalja", is out now and winning hearts. Music label Saregama has shared the video on its YouTube channel.

About the movie 'Amar Singh Chamkila'

In the film, Diljit Dosanjh portrays the iconic character of Amar Singh Chamkila, while Parineeti Chopra depicts his partner, Amarjot Kaur. Their tragic demise, along with two of their band members, marked the abrupt end of Chamkila's soaring career at the young age of 27 in 1988.

Born on July 21, 1960, Amar Singh Chamkila harbored a passion for singing from an early age. While employed in a cloth mill, he also dedicated himself to songwriting. It was through his own compositions that he rose to prominence, with his breakout hit "Takue Te Takua." Adopting the stage name 'Chamkila,' he swiftly gained popularity in the villages of Punjab. Over time, he collaborated with various female singers, until he found a steadfast musical partner in Amarjot Kaur.
