Fawad Khan and Mahira Khan starrer 'The Legend of Maula Jatt' is set for its India release. The update has sent Fawad and Mahira's Indian fans into a frenzy, who have been awaiting the film's arrival in Indian theatres for two years. The film premiered in Pakistan in October 2022 and revolutionised South Asian cinema. 'The Legend of Maula Jatt' is also the highest-grossing Pakistani film of all time.

Maula Jaat’s official Instagram handle announced the news, “Two years on, The Legend of Maula Jatt is still unstoppable! Witness the epic saga on the big screen in India from 2nd October 2024.”

Zee Studios has secured the rights to a highly anticipated Pakistani film, paving the way for the first Pakistani movie release in India in years. Initially slated for a December 30, 2023 release, the film's Indian premiere was delayed due to last-minute distributor withdrawals.

'The Legend of Maula Jatt' was a critical and commercial success in Pakistan. Based on Nasir Adeeb’s characters, the film is a modern retelling of the 1979 Pakistani classic. Starring Fawad Khan, Mahira Khan, Hamza Ali Abbasi, and Humaima Malick, the film explores the intense rivalry between Maula Jatt and Noori Natt.
