Dream Slate Pictures has unveiled the title of Dr Kiran Bedi's biopic. It will be a biographical portrayal of Dr Kiran Bedi and will be directed by Kushaal Chawla.

Kiran Bedi, India's pioneering IPS officer, has announced the production of her biographical film titled 'BEDI: The Name You Know. The Story You Don't,' as per a Hindustan Times report. Despite receiving offers for a film on her life previously, Bedi revealed that she felt the timing was right now, considering it a form of liberation. She said that the decision was influenced by director Kushaal Chawla's extensive four-and-a-half-years' research, which impressed her during their initial meeting in Puducherry.

When will the biopic shooting begin?

The film, set to commence soon, awaits casting for Bedi's character. Bedi said that the the film's potential release will be in 2025, coinciding with the 50th anniversary of International Women's Year, envisioning it as a global production with Indian roots.

Reflecting on her experience as an IPS officer, Dr Kiran Bedi acknowledged her detachment from police portrayals in Indian cinema. However, she fondly recalled her involvement in the showbiz realm through her TV show 'Aap Ki Kachehri,' describing it as a fulfilling phase. The show's format, based on live testimonials and evidence, resonated with her passion for service and the pursuit of fairness, she mentioned.
