After making his debut with the 1990 musical hit ‘Aashiqui’, Deepak Tijori went on to do memorable roles in films like ‘Dil Hai Ke Manta Nahin’, ‘Khiladi’, ‘Sadak’, ‘Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikandar’ and many others.

Besides being a musical blockbuster, the Mahesh Bhatt-directed film ‘Aashiqui’ gave Bollywood a new star in the form of Deepak Tijori. After ‘Aashiqui’, Deepak Tijori went onto do films like ‘Dil Hai Ke Manta Nahin’, ‘Khiladi’, ‘Sadak’, ‘Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikandar’ and many others. But did you know that Deepak Tijori had auditioned for the lead role in the mega-blockbuster film ‘Maine Pyar Kiya’!

This was revealed by none other than Deepak himself in an interview with Bollywood Hungama. He said that Salman Khan and he had auditioned for the lead role of Prem’s character in ‘Maine Pyar Kiya’. After seeing the rushes, Sooraj Barjatya told him that the Barjatya family had decided to go ahead with Salman Khan. Deepak added that the film’s makers had even told him that, in case he gets selected, they would like to change his name on the screen and had also discussed about how they would like to launch him in the film (‘Maine Pyar Kiya’).

On the work front, Deepak Tijori is presently busy the post-production of his directorial ‘Tipppsy’. The film stars Natasha Suri, Alankrita Sahai, Sonia Birje, Kainaat Arora and Nazia Hussain. Besides this, he will be acting in Jai Mehta’s web series ‘Pirates’.
