Delnaaz Irani slams media portals for calling her ‘berozgaar’, says ‘shame on you’

Actor Delnaaz Irani, best known for her work in films like ‘Kal Ho Naa Ho’ and ‘Milenge Milenge’, took to Instagram and slammed some media portals for misquoting her in their news reports and calling her ‘unemployed’.

Her note read, ‘Recently, I did an interview with a dear friend and an honest conversation was misconstrued and taken out of context and how. As an actor, I very clearly understand what journalism is but I know for a fact, it’s not to pick up things out of context just for a few clicks to their website link or likes on their post. A few online portals and the journalists completely manipulated my words into something that they thought would make for an interesting headline. Shame on you!!! Did you bother to watch the full interview or understand what I was talking about? What kind of journalism is this where your research is only completely wrong? For the unversed, many news portals published her interview with RJ Siddharth Kannan in which Delnaaz urged people to offer her work and said that she feels there’s a lot of ‘groupism and camps’ in the industry which often creates a monopoly, especially ever since social media influencers entered the scene.

She also stated that her industry friends have been facing similar problems as they don’t have ‘blue-tick’ verification on social media.

Delnaaz Irani last featured in the TV show, ‘Kabhi Kabhie Ittefaq Sey’, which is a Hindi remake of a Bengali show, ‘Khorkuto’.
