Deepika Padukone calls her FIFA World Cup outfit ‘perfect’ amid criticism: ‘It’s really comfortable’

Actor Deepika Padukone, who is an ambassador for the international fashion label, Louis Vuitton, was chosen alongside Spanish football player Iker Casillas to present the prestigious FIFA World Cup trophy ahead of the final match. She is the first Indian to receive this honour, but instead of being praised, she became the target of online trolls. People began commenting on the actor's 'atrocious' outfit that according to them didn't match the occasion.

Deepika and the fashion label shared a video on social media showing the actor's preparation leading up to the presentation. The video was captioned, ‘A day at the #FIFAWorldCup2022 Final with #DeepikaPadukone. The House Ambassador got ready with #LouisVuitton before revealing the ultimate prize in football. In the clip, Deepika said that she's both nervous and full of gratitude at being chosen for the event. She shared that it's her first time in Doha as well as the FIFA World Cup.

Deepika also talked about the outfit’s designer, Nicolas Ghesquière and explained the vision behind the dress.

‘It’s a very special look by my very dear friend Nicolas. And what I love about it is that it’s so perfect for what we are going to do which is unveiling the trophy. But at the same time, it’s really comfortable,’ she said.

Meanwhile, Deepika also expressed her love for her husband, actor Ranveer Singh on Instagram calling him her ‘rock’. She reshared one his Instagram stories and wrote, ‘A couple that watches the FIFA World Cup together, stays together.’
