Poonam Pandey is not dead. The actor, who was reported to be dead on Friday, has now taken to her official Instagram account to share that she faked her demise. She also revealed the reason behind it. Pandey said that she intended to raise awareness against cervical cancer, a disease that silently takes your life.

Poonam Pandey confirms she's alive

Sharing a video on her Instagram, Pandey said, "Hi everyone this is Poonam, i am sorry I have cause tear, I am sorry to those I have hurt. My intention to shock everyone into a conversation we are not talking enough about which is cervical cancer. Yes, I faked my demise, extreme I know. But suddenly we are all talking about cervical cancer. Arent we?It is a disease that silently takes your life and this disease needed a spotlight urgently. I am proud of what my death news has been able to achieve."

'Cervical cancer didn't claim me'

In another post, she shared, "I feel compelled to share something significant with you all - I am here, alive. Cervical Cancer didn’t claim me, but tragically, it has claimed the lives of thousands of women who stemmed from a lack of knowledge on how to tackle this disease. Unlike some other cancers, Cervical Cancer is entirely preventable. The key lies in the HPV vaccine and early detection tests. We have the means to ensure no one loses their life to this disease. Poonam Pandey's stint comes a day ahead of World Cancer Day, which is marked on 4 February to raise awareness of cancer and to encourage its prevention, detection, and treatment.
