'Darlings', starring Alia Bhatt, Shefali Shah, Vijay Varma and Roshan Mathew, is finally out on Netflix. The dark comedy is Alia's maiden production venture in collaboration with Shah Rukh Khan’s Red Chillies Entertainment.

'Darlings' narrates the story of Badrunissa Shaikh, a domestic violence survivor, who kidnaps her husband with the help of her mother, to take revenge for beating her up.
Ahead of its release, 'boycott Alia Bhatt' was trending on Twitter as people were unhappy about how the film promotes domestic violence. However, it is receiving a mixed response from the netizens.

Here is a look at some of the tweets.

The Alia Bhatt-led movie majorly shines as Twitterati praises the incredible performances of its cast.

A Twitter user wrote that 'Darlings' is one of the best movies this year. Another user mentioned that those who had a problem with this movie and called it misandry, should watch this film. The user further mentioned that it's an amazing movie depicting both sides of the story. One person also stated that he is totally in love with 'Darlings' and can watch it again, while another wrote that the film is 'empowering, liberating & pertinent'.

A few Twitter users feel that the film has been overhyped. A netizen also wrote that the only good thing about the movie was that it finally ends.

'Darlings' has been directed by debutant Jasmeet K Reen, who has also written the story along with Parveez Sheikh.
