Cricketer Yuvraj Singh’s biopic announced to celebrate his contributions to cricket: I’m deeply honoured

The remarkable journey of cricket star Yuvraj Singh—from a young prodigy to World Cup hero and cancer survivor—is set to be adapted into a biopic. Produced by Bhushan Kumar's T-Series and co-produced by Ravi Bhagchandka, the film will celebrate Singh's extraordinary life and accomplishments on the big screen.

The film is set to be a grand tribute to Yuvraj Singh's extraordinary journey, celebrating his cricketing achievements, including his iconic six sixes in the 2007 T20 World Cup, as well as his brave struggles off the field.

Expressing his gratitude, Yuvraj said, ‘I am deeply honoured that my story will be showcased to millions of my fans across the globe by Bhushan ji & Ravi. Cricket has been my greatest love and source of strength through all the highs and lows. I hope this film inspires others to overcome their own challenges and pursue their dreams with unwavering passion.’

The film is co-produced by Ravi Bhagchandka, known for 'Sachin: A Billion Dreams'. Ravi, reflecting on his relationship with Yuvraj Singh, stated, ‘Yuvraj has been a close friend for many years. I'm honored he trusted us to bring his remarkable cricketing journey to the screen. Yuvi is not just a world champion but a true legend in every sense.’

About Yuvraj Singh

Singh began his cricketing career at just 13 with the Punjab Under-16 team. He made a significant impact in the 2000 Under-19 World Cup, where he was named player of the tournament and earned a spot on the senior team. Known for his aggressive left-handed batting and dynamic fielding, Singh rose to prominence during India’s 2007 T20 World Cup victory, famously hitting six sixes in an over against England's Stuart Broad. The film will likely highlight this iconic moment and his key role in India's 2011 World Cup win, where he was named player of the series.

Singh’s journey also includes his battle with cancer, diagnosed in 2011. His courageous fight and return to cricket in 2012 won the hearts of many and cemented his status as a beacon of inspiration. Additionally, he enjoyed success in the Indian Premier League (IPL) and retired from international cricket in 2019.
