‘Chamkila’ release deets: Netflix announces Diljit Dosanjh and Parineeti Chopra starrer’s release

Filmmaker Imtiaz Ali is ready with his next project ‘Chamkila’ starring Diljit Dosanjh and Parineeti Chopra. Netflix, the OTT platform where the film will be released, made the announcement in an Instagram post about the release date.

Announcing the release date of the upcoming film, Netflix posted a video clip featuring the lead actor Diljit Dosanjh. The announcement post read, “Maahaul bann jaata tha jab vo chedta tha saaz, kuch aisa hi tha Chamkila ka Andaaz @imtiazaliofficial ’s #AmarSinghChamkila arriving on 12 April, only on Netflix!”

About ‘Chamkila’

Based on the life of Punjab’s one of the best live performers, the film will see singer and actor Diljit Dosanjh as ‘Amar Singh Chamkila’, while Parineeti Chopra will be essaying the role of Amarjot, Chamkila’s wife. Amar Singh Chamkila, his wife along with the other band members were assassinated on March 8, 1988.

While Imitiaz is helming the film with both the actors with musical background, ‘Chamkila’ will have Grammy awards winning musician A R Rahman’s music, increasing the anticipation among the fans about the film. The film will be released on exclusively on Netflix on April 12.

Gearing up for the release of ‘Chamkila’, Imtiaz Ali has a flim like ‘Rockstar’, which received a great response from the audience and critics, to his credit. Besides, he has given films like ‘Highway’, ‘Tamasha’ and ‘Jab We Met’.
