‘Chak De! India’ fame actor Rio Kapadia passes away

Rio Kapadia's cremation will take place on September 15 at Shiv Dham Shamshan Bhumi in Goregaon. He is survived by his wife, Maria Farah, kids Aman and Veer.

‘Chak De! India’ fame actor Rio Kapadia passes away

Actor Rio Kapadia, who is known for his work in films like ‘Chak De! India, ‘Dil Chahta Hai’ among others, passed away on September 14. The news of his demise has left the entire industry shocked.

Rio Kapadia’s family is yet to release a statement.

In his career spanning nearly three decades, Rio Kapadia has starred in a number of television commercials and has also featured in several renowned television shows, including ‘Sapne Suhane Ladakpan Ke’, ‘Kutumb’, ‘Judwa Raja’, ‘Kyunki saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi’, among others.

In 2013, Rio Kapadia played the role of King Gandhar in the serial, ‘Mahabharat’, and was praised for his performance.

Rio Kapadia shared his last Instagram post on June 5. He had shared photos from his Europe trip with family.

‘Back again to the final leg of the European trip! Back to Paris. Had to see Paris in the eve from the Eiffel tower and have some last dinners in the beautiful city’ he wrote.

Besides acting, Rio Kapadia was also exceptionally good when it came to sketching. He had sketched the likes of Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Shashi Kapoor, Madhuri Dixit, and others.
