Tributes are pouring in from across the nation for late singer Pankaj Udhas. Several celebrities have posted their messages and condolences on social media. 

Celebs pay tribute to ghazal legend: ‘Shocking’, ‘End of an era...’, ‘His music will live'

As the news surfaced of Pankaj Udhas’ demise, Bollywood celebrities, singers and contemporaries who had the privilege to work with ghazal maestro Pankaj Udhas have expressed their shock and grief.

Celebs express condolences

Singer Sonu Nigam was among the first ones to pay his condolences. In an emotional post, the singer wrote that he has lost one of the most important part of his childhood, adding that he will miss the late singer forever. Bhajan singer Anup Jalota took to twitter and shared some of his pictures with Udhas. Jalota expressed shock and extended condolences to the grieving family. Singer Papon called legendary singer’s demise a personal loss. “A big part of our growing up days is over, Papon added. Adnan Sami said that he is at a loss of words. Paying tribute to the rich legacy of Pankaj Udhas, Sami said that his music will live till end of times.
Besides singers, many Bollywood celebs and politicians also expressed their condolences on the demise of ghazal maestro.

Family’s statement

Pankaj Udhas’ family confirmd the sad news of his demise as they shared an official statement on social media. The statement read, “With a very heavy heart, we are saddened to inform you of the sad demise of padmashri Pankaj Udhas on 26th February 2024 due to a prolonged illness.” The singer is survived by his wife Farida Udhas and two daughters: Nayaab and Reva.
