‘Boycott Fukrey 3’ trends on Twitter after Richa Chadha’s Galwan tweet

Richa Chadha is facing massive backlash after her recent tweet on the Indian Army. The actor did apologise for her remark, but the internet isn't pacified yet, and the irked netizens have trigged the boycott trend again.

Many social media users slammed Richa and are calling for a boycott of her forthcoming film, ‘Fukrey 3’. One Twitter user wrote, ‘Waiting for fukery 3 so that #BoycottFukrey3 Flop actress, don't have respect for our soldiers.’

Another user tweeted, ‘What is the status of you people in front of the Indian Army. You can do anything for money. Be ashamed of what you have said..#RichaChadha #BoycottFukrey3’. A netizen wrote, ‘Boycott struggle continues, now it's Fukrey3's turn, Boycott fukrey3 for a slap to richa chadha for insulting indian army. put her in her place, Bollywood is eating our culture like termites so boycott is necessary.’

The third installment of the sleeper hit series, directed by Mrighdeep Singh Lamba, stars Richa in her iconic role as Bholi Punjaban. Besides her, it also stars Ali Fazal, Pulkit Samrat, Manjot Singh, Ali Fazal, Pankaj Tripathi, and Varun Sharma.

Bollywood celebrities such as Anupam Kher, Akshay Kumar, and Kay Kay Menon expressed disappointment over Richa's remarks. Filmmaker Ashoke Pandit filed a police complaint against the actor. The Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) has also appealed to Maharashtra government and police authorities to take ‘due cognizanze’ of the statement and ‘initiate necessary action against Richa’.
