Boney Kapoor remembers Sridevi as he shares throwback pictures from 'English Vinglish' Tokyo premiere

Boney Kapoor took to Instagram on Monday and shared some pictures from the premiere of the 2012 hit ‘English Vinglish’, which was his wife Sridevi’s comeback film after a hiatus of almost 15 years. The first image is from designer Kunal Rawal and Arpita Mehta's wedding, while the others are from 2012. Sharing the pictures, the filmmaker mentioned that he is wearing the same tuxedo he wore for the film's premiere a decade later, in 2022.

‘Wearing the tux which I wore for English Winglish premiere in Tokyo 10yrs back , happy to C it still fits me,’ he captioned his post.

Sridevi died in 2018 in Dubai, where she attended a family function.

In an old interview, Boney recalled the time he first saw Sridevi in the 70s when she was shooting for a Tamil film. The couple later interacted in 1987 when the actor was shooting for ‘Mr India’ opposite Boney's younger brother Anil Kapoor. They started dating in the 90s and married in 1996.

While remembering his wife on her death anniversary, Boney told Gulf news, ‘I am not looking for closure. I want her to be around me all the time. She is there in my thoughts and will remain in my thoughts all the time. There is not a single moment of the day where she is not with me. She may not be here physically, but she’s there in my mind all the time and that keeps me going.’
