Ayan Mukerji wanted to reveal Dev’s face in 'Brahmastra: Part 1'

'Brahmastra', starring Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor, is doing wonders at the box office. It is the highest grossing Bollywood film of 2022. The film is a visual treat for the audience, and it has left them curious about the mysterious character of Dev. There have been many speculations about who it could be.

Speaking with Hindustan Times, director Ayan Mukerji revealed that he wanted to reveal Dev's character in the first part. He said 'to be honest, for a long time, we were going to end the film with even the face reveal of Dev’s character. It was with a lot of thought and a desire to create some curiosity in the minds of the audiences that we ended the film where we did'. He also said that the Brahmastra's real story will come alive in the second part of the movie.

He further added that Dev is the most interesting character that he'll be taking so far in his career and that he's extremely excited about the potential of the character. He is targetting December 2025 release for the second part.

'Brahmastra' also stars Mouni Roy, Amitabh Bachchan, and Nagarjuna in pivotal roles. The film was released in the theatres on September 9.
