‘Article 370’ box office collection: Yami Gautam starrer mints ₹ 5.7 crore on day 1

Released on February 24, ‘Article 370’ opened to a decent start on day 1. The film earned over ₹ 5 crore in domestic market on the opening day, with a scope of further growth on weekend.

According to Sacnilk.com, Yami Gautam and Priyamani starrer grossed ₹ 5.7 crore in India on day 1. The film based on Kashmir politics witnessed an overall 42.8 percent occupancy on Friday.

A lot of theatres offered special discounts on the tickets, which also helped in increasing the collection of the film. With positive reviews coming in, ‘Article 370’ is expected to attract more moviegoers on the weekend.

When PM Modi mentioned the film

PM Modi recently mentioned the film during his speech in Jammu. Speaking about ‘Article 370’, Prime Minister said, “I have heard that a film on Article 370 is going to be released this week... It is a good thing that as it will help people in getting correct information.”

About ‘Article 370’

The film is produced by ‘Uri: The Surgical Strike’ director Aditya Dhar and directed by Aditya Suhas Jambhale. Besides Yami and Priyamani, it also features Arun Govil and Kiran Karmakar in key roles. Yami essays the role of an intelligence officer who faces challenges amid the political tension in Kashmir.

Yami was last seen in ‘OMG 2’ and ‘Chor Nikal Ke Bhaga’ on Netflix. The actor and her director-producer husband Aditya Dhar are expecting their first child. Confirming Yami’s pregnancy during an event of ‘Article 370’, Dhar said, “There is a baby on its way.” Yami flaunted her baby bump at the trailer launch event as well.
