Anupam Kher talks about Kirron Kher's cancer journey: 'She is a fighter'

Actor Anupam Kher is gearing up for the release of his forthcoming film 'Uunchai', co-starring Amitabh Bachchan, Boman Irani, and Neena Gupta among others. The actor recently opened up about his wife-actor Kirron Kher’s cancer journey and called her 'a fighter.'

In an exclusive interview with ETimes, the 'The Kashmir Files' actor said, ‘She has started work again in Chandigarh. She was a judge on India’s Got Talent. The human spirit is much more stronger than any other thing. Giving up is not an option. Because you are known, you become role model for people.'

The actor also addressed his concern when Kirron resumed working again after her battle with cancer. He said, 'Of course, anybody who comes to know about something like this… because the C word is somehow made into a big thing but today, science and medicine have become so amazing and she was very lucky to have wonderful doctors here in Mumbai.'

For the unversed, Kirron Kher was diagnosed with multiple myeloma in 2021.

Anupam also talked about his upcoming film and said, 'Rajshri Productions is a treasure, they have made 60 films in 75 years. They have always made a film that they believed in, which is about the culture they believe in and practice. So much so, at a certain point, I think some uncool people decided to slot them as traditional because they could not deal with it.'

Directed by Sooraj Barjatya, 'Uunchai' is a story of a group of old-aged friends who attempt to climb Mount Everest. The film will release on November 11.
