Anil Kapoor signs multi-film deal with YRF for spy universe, set to star in ‘War 2’ ‘Alpha’ and ‘Pathaan

Anil Kapoor seems to have gotten a big job. The evergreen actor, who is currently hosting the popular reality show ‘Bigg Boss OTT 3’, has reportedly signed a multi-film deal with Aditya Chopra’s YRF films. Here is what we know about the mega deal.

Actor Anil Kapoor is gearing up for a new phase in his acting career. According to a Pinkvilla report, Aditya Chopra has taken a big step towards expanding his spy universe. The filmmaker has roped in Anil Kapoor for the upcoming YRF spy universe films by signing a mega multi-film deal. “Anil Kapoor is bowled over by the vision of Aditya Chopra for the Spy Universe and took no time to sign the dotted lines for the part. He begins his affiliation with an appearance in ‘War 2’ starring Hrithik Roshan, NTR Jr, and Kiara Advani. This wil be followed by the Alia Bhatt and Sharvari starrer ‘Alpha’ and finally lead to the Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone film, ‘Pathaan 2,” a source told Pinkvilla.

About Anil Kapoor’s role

The veteran actor will be seen playing the role of R&AW (Research and Operations Wing) chief in the YRF spy universe films which include ‘War 2’, ‘Alpha’ and ‘Pathaan 2’. With this, Kapoor joins the league of actors like Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan, Hrithik Roshan and Alia Bhatt. He will remain the constant character in most of the upcoming spy verse films starting with ‘War 2’.

Anil Kapoor will be seen with Hrithik Roshan and Jr NTR starrer ‘War 2’, which is the upcoming theatrical release of YRF films. Ayan Mukerji directorial is slated to release on August 15, 2025.

Over the years, filmmaker Aditya Chopra has worked towards building a spy universe with films like ‘Tiger’, ‘War’ and ‘Pathaan’. Besides, there are several other films which are in the development stage, which includes Salman Khan and Shah Khan Khan starrer ‘Tiger vs Pathan’. After ‘War 2’, Alia Bhatt starrer ‘Alpha’ will go on the floors, which will also be the first female-led film in YRF spy universe.
