Amitabh Bachchan says ‘better things will happen’ as India loses World Cup: ‘Result not a reflection...'

A day after India's 6-wicket loss in the World Cup final vs Australia, veteran actor Amitabh Bachchan took to social media to share his reaction.

Extending his support to the Men in Blue after their defeat to Australia, Big B wrote that last night’s result is not, in any way, a reflection of the team’s talent, capability and standing.

The actor took to X (formerly Twitter) and wrote, ‘T 4836 - Team India, last night’s result is not, in anyway, a reflection of your talent, capability and standing, proud of you. Better things will happen, keep at it (sic).’

Amitabh Bachchan had earlier been warned against attending the World Cup 2023 final after he said that the Indian cricket team always wins when he doesn't watch its match.

A couple of hours before Australia won World Cup 2023, Big B tweeted and it is grabbing attention.

He wrote, ‘T 4835 - Kuch bhi toh nahi (Nothing at all).’ Many were convinced that Amitabh Bachchan was hinting at the India vs Australia match, in which Australia successfully chased India's 240 runs.

Several Bollywood celebrities, including Shah Rukh Khan, Deepika Padukone, Ranveer Singh, Shanaya Kapoor, Asha Bhosle, Daggubati Venkatesh, Ayushmann Khurrana, and Vivek Oberoi were present at the stadium to witness the World Cup final.

Shah Rukh Khan also expressed his pride in the team's performance throughout the tournament.

‘The way the Indian team has played this whole tournament is a matter of honour and they showed great spirit and tenacity. It’s a sport and there are always a bad day or two. Unfortunately it happened today….but thank u Team India for making us so proud of our sporting legacy in cricket…u bring too much cheer to the whole of India. Love and respect. You make us one proud Nation,’ SRK tweeted

Kajol, Kareena Kapoor, and Vicky also shared their messages of support and respect for the team on social media.
