Alia Bhatt opens up on why she had to lose weight after daughter Raha's birth

Actor and new mom Alia Bhatt, who recently welcomed a baby girl Raha, opened up about 'women struggling with their new appearance post pregnancy'. She said that she can relate to the same and revealed she has also lost weight. The actor also recently posted a picture flaunting her natural skin with perfection.

In an interview, Alia said that she loved food but had to lose weight as films 'are a visual medium', she has to 'look appealing'.

She told ET Times, "A lot of women struggle with their new appearance post pregnancy. They tend to put a lot of pressure on themselves to get back to looking a certain way. Everyone wants to lose weight and I can relate to that. I love food, I love to eat and I had to lose weight because films are a visual medium and you need to look healthy. You have to look appealing. In today’s age, with every picture appearing on social media, girls even before pregnancy are constantly worried about how they look. Women should take a moment to appreciate their bodies."

Alia Bhatt added that she now does work out to develop immunity and stay healthy and just not to look thin. "It’s not just about getting back in shape, but building your immunity, and then, everything will follow. Now when I work out, I don’t do it to become thin or make my waist look smaller. I do it to be healthy. The idea is to be fit and not starve yourself by following some unhealthy diet. I made a decision to never be hard on myself even if there’s extra bloating or chubbiness here and there. I am going to celebrate it. I won’t torture myself...," the actor said.

Alia also shared some tips for new moms on being healthy, eating good food and going for a walk or doing yoga.

The actor also recently posted a beautiful natural sun-kissed picture of her where she can be seen holding a tulip. Sharing the picture she wrote, ‘2.0 Stay tuned.
