Ajay Devgn and Tabu's film 'Auron Mein Kahan Dum Tha' release gets postponed; here’s why

Ajay Devgn and Tabu fans will have to wait a bit longer for their upcoming film ‘Auron Mein Kahan Dum Tha’. On July 2, the makers of the romance thriller announced that the release has been pushed to a later date.

In a statement, the makers said, ‘Dear friends, at the request of exhibitors and the distribution fraternity, we have collectively decided to shift the release date of our film, ‘Auron Mein Kahan Dum Tha’... New release date to be announced soon.’

The movie was originally scheduled to hit theatres on July 5.

A source told Bollywood Hungama, ‘Kalki 2898 AD had a strong weekend and is holding up well on weekdays. It is expected to perform well in its second weekend too. If 'Auron Mein Kahan Dum Tha' releases this Friday, it would lead to screen-sharing issues, affecting both films. The exhibitors would also suffer. Hence, in the larger interest of the trade, 'Auron Mein Kahan Dum Tha' has been postponed.’

When asked when the mature love story will be released in cinemas, the source replied, ‘The makers will take a call soon. It’ll mostly come in the second week of July. It is said that the makers are also eyeing August 2.’

'Auron Mein Kahan Dum Tha' marks Ajay and Tabu’s tenth collaboration, eagerly awaited by fans anticipating their portrayal as lovers. Director Neeraj Pandey revealed his initial inspiration for the film, stating, ‘Two years ago, the idea for this film struck me. Ajay and Tabu were my immediate choices.’ He emphasized that while he wasn’t aware of their off-screen bond, he believed they were ideal for the roles.

The film narrates an epic love story depicting Krishna and Vasudha, whose relationship faces severe challenges leading to separation after Krishna commits multiple murders and receives a life sentence. Their poignant reunion after 22 years forms the heart of the movie.
