Agastya Nanda makes Instagram debut; Navya Naveli Nanda, Gauri Khan and others welcome him

Actor Agastya Nanda, who made his Bollywood debut in December 2023 with the Netflix film 'The Archies', has finally joined Instagram.

The grandson of Amitabh Bachchan and Jaya Bachchan dropped a sun-kissed photo of himself.

Agastya received a warm welcome from his family and friends. His sister, Navya Naveli Nanda, wrote, "Welcome." His mother, Shweta Bachchan, expressed her love, saying, "Love and hugs, baby boy." Arjun Kapoor greeted him with, "Welcome Aggy boy!!!" Zoya Akhtar also left a friendly comment, saying, "Hello there (heart emoji)."

Gauri Khan, whose daughter Suhana Khan is rumoured to be dating the actor, also commented on the post and sent a big hug to Agastya Nanda.

Gauri and Shah Rukh's daughter Suhana Khan also made her Bollywood debut with Zoya Akhtar's ‘The Archies’. Agastya played Archie Andrews in the teen musical, while Suhana was seen as Veronica Lodge.

Agastya Nanda chose not to include a caption in his first post. In the photo, Agastya is seen sitting on a wooden floor, gazing directly into the camera. He sported a brown T-shirt paired with beige trousers.

Within just a few hours of creating his new Instagram account, Agastya had already amassed over 26.4K followers. Notably, some prominent figures like Suhana Khan, Gauri Khan, Shanaya Kapoor, Hansika Motwani, and other celebrities were among his followers, indicating a warm reception from the entertainment industry and his peers.

About ‘The Archies’

‘The Archies,’ based on the American comic book series of the same name, was produced by Tiger Baby Productions and directed by Zoya Akhtar. This film was released on Netflix on December 7. It is set in 1960s India, and it follows Archie and the gang as they navigate themes of romance, friendship, and the future of Riverdale. The plot revolves around developers threatening to destroy a beloved park, adding an element of conflict to the story.

Apart from Agastya and Suhana, it featured Khushi Kapoor as Betty Cooper, Vedang Raina as Reggie Mantle, Mihir Ahuja as Jughead Jones, Dot as Ethel Muggs and Yuvraj Menda as Dilton Doiley.

Agastya’s big screen debut

According to a recent report by Pinkvilla, Agastya is set to play the lead role in filmmaker Sriram Raghavan's upcoming film ‘Ekkis.’ This movie is a biopic of the 1971 war hero Arun Khetarpal and will also feature Dharmendra in a significant role, as mentioned in the report. Agastya is expected to commence shooting for ‘Ekkis’ later this month, marking an important step in his acting career.
