‘Adipurush’: Release of Prabhas’ forthcoming film postponed to give a better ‘visual experience’

The teaser of Prabhas’ forthcoming film ‘Adipurush’ had faced massive backlash on social media for its poor visual effects and controversy over the depiction of titular characters. Director Om Raut had tried his best to defend his project, but now he has decided to postpone the film’s release by six months to work in order to give a complete visual experience to the viewers.

Om Raut released a statement on social media that read, ‘Adipurush is not a film, but a representation of our devotion to Prabhu Shri Ram and commitment towards our sanskriti and history. In order to give a complete visual experience to the viewers, we need to give more time to the teams working on the film. Adipurush will now release on June 16, 2023. We are committed to make a film that India will be proud of. Your support, love and blessings is what keeps us going (sic).’

The film starring Prabhas, Kriti Sanon, and Saif Ali Khan, was initially supposed to release on January 12, 2023, but it has now been pushed to June 16, 2023.

‘Adipurush’ is a 3D film based on Ramayana. It has been produced by Bhushan Kumar, Om, Prasad Sutar, and Rajesh Nair. ‘Adipurush’ will release in theatres in Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, and Kannada.
