Deepika Padukone fans were in for a surprise when the official Instagram account of The Academy shared a clip from the 'Bajirao Mastani' song 'Deewani Mastani'. Directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali, the 2005 film also starred Ranveer Singh and Priyanka Chopra in pivotal roles.

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences shared a throwback video from the 'Bajirao Mastani' song 'Deewani Mastani'. In the shared clip, Deepika Padukone can be seen oozing timeless grace and elegance as she dances to the soulful track. Sung by Shreya Ghoshal, the Sufi song is composed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali, while the lyrics have been penned by Siddharth Garima.

The post by the Academy Awards, commonly known as the Oscars, has fans going berserk. Ranveer Singh, who played the role of Bajirao in the film, also took note of the post and wrote "mesmeric" in the comment section.

At the Oscars 2023, Deepika Padukone appeared as a presenter as she took centre stage to introduce the performance of the 'RRR' song 'Naatu Naatu'. The peppy track went on to grab an Oscar in the Best Song category at the 95th Academy Awards, marking the first-ever Indian film in the category.
