The Indian National Congress has been on a downward spiral in Uttar Pradesh for over a decade. Priyanka Gandhi Vadra’s leadership in the current polls has been optimistically championed as a turning point for the party.

Whether that is true or not, the voters will decide.

However, her campaign videos do testify that her popularity has the old Congress era charm.

The party’s state secretary ran into a crowd returning from a BJP rally. Instead of any hate or jeering, the leader received enthusiastic and curious reactions from the saffron crowd.

The BJP supporters asked for Congress’ manifesto pamphlets and her Ladki Hun Lad Sakti Hun campaign merchandise.

As the party itself put it - a rare visual in politics. Indeed!
