Naidu and Kumar seek key cabinet posts in Modi's next term: report

Prime Minister Narendra Modi convened a critical meeting with National Democratic Alliance (NDA) partners on Wednesday in New Delhi following the BJP's success in the recent Lok Sabha elections. However, despite winning 240 seats, the BJP fell short of a majority, making the support of its allies crucial for government formation.

Now that the BJP allies are in a make or break position, they are reportedly negotiating plum posts for support in forming the government.

According to India Today, Chandrababu Naidu, leader of the Telugu Desam Party (TDP), is reportedly vying for the position of Lok Sabha Speaker, in addition to demanding several cabinet berths for his party.

Similarly, Nitish Kumar, head of the Janata Dal (United), another crucial kingmaker is pushing for three significant cabinet positions.

As the BJP navigates these demands, the allocation of ministerial positions will be crucial in maintaining a cohesive and effective government moving forward. The outcome of these negotiations will significantly shape the political landscape and governance strategies in Modi's next term.
