Punjab Exit Polls: AAP victory predicted; Congress, Akali Dal battle for distant 2nd place| exit polls

According to predictions by most exit polls, it is the Aam Aadmi Party which is headed for victory in the northern state.

Punjab Exit Polls 2022: A year-long protest by farmers, infighting in the ruling party, and break-up of a decades-old alliance - with drama at every stage, Punjab was arguably the most-keenly watched election in the 5-state poll exercise which ended on March 7. The border state saw a multi-cornered contest for the first time in 2022.

And it's a relatively newer player which seems to have captured the voters' imagination in Punjab. According to predictions by most exit polls, it is the Aam Aadmi Party which is headed for victory in the northern state.

The Akali Dal, which broke up with the BJP over the farm law protest, also apparently failed to capitalise on anti-incumbency.
