Rohini Acharya: will Lalu Yadav’s daughter be able to take mother Rabri’s electoral revenge?

All eyes are on the Saran Lok Sabha seat as RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav's daughter Rohini Acharya is set to contest from this seat. Saran has been a prominent seat for the RJD family as Lalu Prasad Yadav won several times from here and now it appears that his daughter Rohini has come to take back the crucial seat.

To understand why Rohini Acharya has been picked to mark her poll debut from Saran, let's take a quick recap of what all happened in Saran in the previous polls.

Saran is renowned for its significant influence in Indian politics. Before the implementation of the delimitation of parliamentary constituencies based on the recommendations of the Delimitation Commission of India, this seat was called Chapra.

Lalu Prasad Yadav first won this seat in 1977. In total, he was elected from Chapra thrice and when it became Saran, he won the 2009 polls too. However, in 2014, BJP candidate and the sitting MP Rajiv Pratap Rudy defeated Rabri Devi, then Bihar CM and wife of Lalu Prasad Yadav from Saran.

If you remember, in 2022, Lalu Prasad Yadav was not doing great healthwise. During that time, Rohini Acharya came to his rescue and donated her kidney to him.

From then on, the RJD president seldom misses to mention his daughter’s 'great gesture' at various public platforms. Now that Rohini is contesting from Saran, will she be able to avenge her mother's electoral loss?
