Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Jyotiraditya Scindia is all set to contest the Lok Sabha polls from the Guna constituency in Madhya Pradesh. Congress has fielded Rao Yadavendra Singh Yadav against Scindia. Yadavendra Singh joined Congress after leaving BJP in 2023.

Rao Yadavendra Singh is the son of Deshraj Singh Yadav, who contested the polls against Jyotiraditya Scindia in 2002. However, Deshraj Singh lost the polls.

Before this, Deshraj Singh contested the polls against Jyotiraditya Scindia's father, late Madhavrao Scindia, in 1999. Madhavrao won the polls with more than 4 lakh votes.

Now, the Guna constituency is set to witness an interesting battle between Rao Yadavendra Singh and Scindia, who lost to the BJP in the 2019 general elections from the same seat.

The Guna Lok Sabha seat was known to be a bastion of Scindias since 1957. The Lok Sabha polling in Guna is scheduled to take place on Thursday, May 7, during the third phase.
