It's decision time in West Bengal. With two phases of voting sealed and five more to go, the state is emerging as one of the key swing states of 2024.

It is the third election since 2019 that Mamata Banerjee-led Trinamool Congress is clashing with Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led BJP in the fiercely fought battle of electoral supremacy in West Bengal.

In the last general election, BJP made a big leap winning 18 seats but the Trinamool Congress bounced back by claiming 215 seats out of the total 294 Assembly seats in 2021.

The result in West Bengal could decide if Modi's NDA alliance can reach its ambitious goal of '400 paar'. But defeating the BJP is equally important for Mamata Banerjee, who wants to stop BJP from retaining the seats it won last time.
