What is the Tata Group paying for Air India?
Tata consortium will pay Rs 18,000 crore to acquire Air India from the government and of the total money 15% would go to the government and the rest to clear part of the debt.

What does the Tata Group get?
Tata Group can now stake claim to Air India's 4,400 domestic and 1,800 international landing and parking slots at domestic airports, as well as 900 slots at overseas airports.
